Frantz Tuernal | Il Etait Une Fois La Diaspora Noire
Label: Festival de L’AMEP
Genre: Zouk/Flamenco
Release: 1986
Country: Martinique
Grading: VG+/VG+ (12” 45 RPM, Maxi-Single)
Talented Martiniquais musician playing an enchanting fusion of flamenco and zouk on his acoustic guitar. Incredibly, he wrote the track “Il Etait Une Fois La Diaspora Noire” at the tender age of 17, gaining recognition amongst his peers winning the Antilles-Guyane CMAC-SACEM competition. Undeniably a great track but it doesn’t quite reach the depths of “Koultans” on the B side, a melancholic acoustic guitar over a rhythmic beat splashed with twinkling synths. Glossy record with slight visible warp which doesn’t affect play.
