Legendary Cape Verdean singer with an energetic album of killer tropical heat, from funana to cadence to reggae. The frenetic “Batuque Fitcha” runs at 140 bpm but is nicely grounded by Américo’s melancholic vocals, definitely one for peak time on the dance-floor! Glossy record with few hairlines and clean labels, plays well. Sleeve has substantial edge wear and a surface tear on the front cover, it’s full of character.
